Everyone has rights and rights are a certain set of rules that can help protect you and enforce your safety. If you learn your rights, you can help enforce them upon others and yourself. It helps yourself and everyone make good choices, and stay away from trouble.

For example, whilst in school, you have the right to be treated with respect. You also have rights about your privacy and what teachers can ask or do.

Even outside school, knowing your rights can keep you safe. It helps you understand what is okay and what is not, like when you talk to police or use the internet.

You don’t need to be a lawyer to understand your rights. There are many easy ways to learn about them, and that is what YouthLaw is here for. to help young people get smart about the law.

If you learn your rights, you will feel better and more confident. You can protect yourself and help others too.

So start learning today. Your rights matter. no matter how young you are.
